I decided to Kettle dye my fleece, which means basically you dye your fibre in a pan. I used 2 methods. The first is pretty simple. I wanted an even overall colour so I mixed my dye and placed it in the pan of water. Being careful to watch over it, Let it boil on the hob gently for 20mins and done!
The next method I used (in the pic) was to try and get a nice shaded green. I wanted the leafs and dark blue for the shading of the water and foilage. so In my pan I place my fleece added some blue dye and then gentley sprinkled yellow over the top.
This gives a very uneven dye. which is perfect as its all the same colour but with different shades.
And heres the result after 4 hours in the kitchen, I have a selection of greens, blues, pinks and lilac. These are still wet so excuse the towel! The colours are all will be blended together in the next stage. This is the exciting part as this will completly change the colours of the wool!

The colors look great! Oh, and I think it's *sweet* that Monet's waterlilies ended up being the theme! It really does include practically all the voted colors.

oh they colours are loverly, depending on the ply, i'd make either some long fingerless gloves or a shawl, i think the colours would be perfect!

Perfect colors! Someone had suggested to me when dyeing to sprinkle the powder on top like you did and I thought it seemed not be the right way, not dissolving it-interesting you did it how she described and it worked out perfectly for your colorway-learning new things everyday.
Daneen, i did disolve the pinks, and exhusted the dyes in 2 batches to give the shading. sprinkling can lead to a mushy mess. but i wanted blues and greens with the same tones/hues. So did it that way. I could have exhusted the dyes again but it wouldn't have given the subtle changes that i got using this method.
Love the colours! Would make a lovely shawl or socks depending on the ply!
